What can I do to help myself?

I get asked this a lot and it isn’t as difficult as you may think. And it is hard work but so worth it.

How many times gave you failed at your resolutions or your plans failed? I dont see this as failure it is just a slip up because you haven’t got the right support in place.

This is where coaching can come in – we can work together to achieve goals and detach the negative. I will let you explore yourself and help you see the real you.

If we all find a purpose in our life and act on it, we should all be able to live at sea and receive the fruit that harvests.

Finding your purpose can be difficult and sometimes we need help. I have been through a period of self discovery whilst writing my novel and building my business. But in all I’m feeling better.

Comfort Zone

Let’s be honest, we all enjoy being comfortable in a physical sense but who has heard of the saying ” Do something every day that scares you”?

As a coach, I do not agree with this as such but you are to challenge yourself daily. Push through the fear and get closer to your goal.

I am pushing my comfort zone at the moment and that is where you learn and become more aware of what’s happening.

Finding peace

The Creative

I believe that we all have a story inside of us, we have experienced things in our lives and we have learned from them. Our ancestors used storytelling often. How many fables can you remember?

I’ve set myself a challenge to publish my life story, I’ve written before but never published. Already, I have written over 10k words in a week – it is hard and time consuming but so worth it.

I heard that writing was cathartic and it is. I’ve written about my experiences at school which included bullying and mental health distress.

This is going to be spread far and wide, I know you will resonate with it and you will see resilience.

Land sickness

The Calling of the Ocean

As I sit here wrapped up warm,I am thinking about sailing and how amazing it makes me feel.

It makes me feel at peace and at one with the world. And the ocean calling can be heard throughout my body. I want to be on the ocean and trusting my instincts.

I’m looking forward to going sailing again soon and it’s in my yearly goals.

Stepping out

So, as a coach I still need coaching. I struggle with self doubt and negative self-talk. One thing that came up was I need to visible in this field.

Reaching High

The Big Picture

So, imagine this.

You are sitting comfortably on a sofa, a blanket wrapped around you. You take a few deep breaths and relax.

You are safe and comfortable. You hear your pet (or partner breathing) and this relaxes you.

You then can smell the burning of a fire that makes you feel safe and warm. You then take a few deep breaths again.

Resting quietly, I want you yo reach into your unconscious and write down what you r inner talk is saying. Take a few minutes there and slowly wake from this.

You can achieve anything. Your unconscious knows what is good for you. Set your intentions on reaching high and you can achieve this.

Tackling Fear

The Fear

So, about ten years ago (maybe more) I took the plunge and tried something new. Sailing.
This was completely alien to me and a step out of my comfort zone, I was offered a programme through the Prince’s Trust and loved it – even ended me with a short term job.

But the best thing that I was offered was a chance to be a skippers mate – this lasted 8 months and I sailed from Canvey Island to Truro. I then returned home and began to look into taking my exams but there was a limit due to my health, so I gave up thinking that’s the end.

But I was wrong – when I lost my sight I was depressed a d stuck. Nothing seemed possible until I read about Blind Sailing. It took me two years to buck the courage and i did it.

I sailed with a local organisation for over seven days and regained my love for sailing. I then went two years after with another charity and I’ve got the buzz.

So, my fear of my own fragility stopped my growth but when I took that first step into the deck. I was like yes, this is my purpose.

I’m now looking at going again this year, looking at my bucket list event of a transatlantic crossing and making sailing a goal for not just me but my business.

So I’m a sucker for self-development and now I have commenced my Neuro-Linguistic Programming training it is pushing my own mental processes in a good way.
